Emma de Goede

Emma de Goede has been in the music industry, performing for over 15 years. She is a sought after professional vocalist, songwriter, performer, recording artist and singing teacher. Growing up, she had a diverse creative arts education, but her journey ultimately led her to graduate top of my class with a BMus degree in Jazz Performance at UCT’s South African College of Music, specialising in jazz voice. She has won multiple music competitions (national & international) throughout her music career and have performed at high profile events and prestigious venues including Kirstenbosch Gardens, the Baxter Theatre, Artscape Theatre Centre and Cape Town City Hall. Most recently, in her capacity as a jazz vocalist, she was a semi- finalist in the 6th Unisa International Voice Competition.

Emma is also one half of alternative-pop duo, Emerger, formed together with multi-instrumentalist/ producer partner, Gerrit Matthee. With the release of their self-produced and celebrated debut album ‘Bloom’ in 2018, their dreamy, synth- driven melodies, cinematic progressions, powerful vocals, and punchy beats have been making waves both nationally and overseas. Their single ‘Break & Fall’ was a winner of the Abbey Road Studios International song competition, picked from nearly 5000 entries and gave the duo the opportunity to attended sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London. Shortly after the release of ‘Bloom’ they were featured as Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight and in Apple Music's 10 Albums You Must Hear This Month (July 2018). Their music was also featured on the BBC Introducing show in the UK.

Moonshine can be used at a wedding, a private house party or corporate event. The client can choose between two or three sets, selecting a background set during cocktails or dinner, followed by a more upbeat swing set to liven up the mood or to start the dance floor, followed by the party set of 50's rock 'n' roll and 60's Motown.

All our artists are picked for their years of experience, passion and personal study of music. The Moonshine band members are all session musicians and band leaders within their own rights, have toured the country and the world, done numerous radio and television appearances, dozens of corporate events, weddings, recording sessions and more. There are also a few B.Mus and M.Mus degrees floating about.

The band needs to be located no further than 20 metres from a working power point If you'd like additional sound, staging or a dance floor, let us know and we can obtain a quote If the artists' performance time falls over a mealtime, a main meal will be required for each band member and technician
